EPIC Campers is no ordinary campervan rental business. We're small but mighty, with a growing fleet, depots and team in both Auckland and Christchurch. Our mission: deliver the ultimate 2 person NZ campervan experience. With 500+ 5-star Google reviews, we're known for innovative campervans, smart processes and genuinely great service.
 

THE ROLE 

We're after an all-star Operations Assistant / Groomer to join our small, high-performing Christchurch team, starting September.

Work rights: you'll need current NZ work rights to apply (working holiday visa welcome provided you have 10+ months remaining on your visa) — we're not able to sponsor this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome customers at pick-up, walk them through their campervan, and get them set for the road
• Handle drop-offs — meet customers, run vehicle checks, update our systems like a boss
• Clean and prep vehicles to EPIC Campers' high standard, with all equipment on board before every hire
• Handle basic customer enquiries via email, WhatsApp and phone
• Basic vehicle checks and maintenance — fluid top-ups, wiper blades and more
• Basic campervan interior fixes — curtain tracks, drawer catches, small parts replacements
• Admin tasks and ad-hoc errands, including running vehicles to and from suppliers

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A "roll up your sleeves and get it done" mentality — happy to smash through hands-on priority work
• Stellar communication skills, written and verbal
• High attention to detail — you love a good process and take pride in getting it right
• At least a year's experience in a dynamic operations or customer-facing role (bonus points for small business experience)
• A full driver's licence and your own transport to get to and from our depot
• A growth mindset — hungry to learn, always improving, takes feedback like a champ

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in campervan/car rental, tourism, hospitality or travel
• Cleaning or vehicle grooming experience
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
• Solid DIY skills — handy with common tools, good at fixing things
• A history of travel or living overseas
• Startup or small business experience
• A love for campervans, road trips and epic adventures

WHAT WE OFFER

• $27.80/hour
• Annual performance bonus of up to 12% of salary (kicks in after 3 months)
