Dairy Farm Help

We are looking for a keen individual (full time) or couple (part time each or WWOOFING+ paid arrangement) to join our 480 dairy cow farm in South Otago

Getting cows in for milking and milking 

Shifting cows to new breaks 

Break fencing 

Cleaning around the farm and dairy shed 

Spraying

Location: Popotunoa, South Otago, 1.5 hours from Dunedin and Invercargill, 2.5 hours from Queenstown, 35 minutes to Gore and Balclutha

Start date: immediate 

Finish date: mid-December

What we offer

Remuneration: based on experience

Hours: 35-40 hours per week if individual, couple 25-30 hours each

Accomodation: brand new self-contained transportable home with bed, kitchen, bathroom

Roster: negotiable, 4/3, 5/2 or 6/1 or 11/3 or 8/2-8/3

A great learning environment if you are keen to learn about how great a dairy cow is at what she does and how and why (and if you have the relevant English language skills)

What you need to bring: attention to detail, respect for animals, strength to do a whole day’s work in the cold and wet doing physical work, ability to listen to instructions and carry out tasks accordingly, a VALID work visa and IRD number, own transport (we live very remote and 35 minutes each way to a town and no public transport)
