Dairy Farm Assistant

Experienced Dairy Farm Assistant on 750 cows 30 minutes from Christchurch.

We have had a fabulous couple on farm with us for the past 6months. They are heading home at the end of September so we need another single or couple to replace them in our farm team.

The role is to start last week of September until 31 May 2026. We run a 6 days on, 2 days off roster rotation and guarantee 25 hours minimum per week.

The role will include;

Fetching cows for milking on a 2-wheel motorbike;

Milking in a 40 aside herringbone with another person twice per day;

Washing down the yard and dairy after milking;

Stockwork;

Putting up or taking down temporary fences;

Weed control;

Roadside mowing;

General maintenance or farm labour as required.

The role comes with 1 or 2 bedroom modern accommodation - with double glazing and a heat pump/ AC. You will be responsible for your own electricity costs.
