Expectations & Realism - Hard graft. Real money. A crew that's got your back. An experience you'll talk about for years.

In NZ the general farming culture is girls raise the calves and boys learn to milk the mummy cows. You are not guaranteed to work together on the Farm.

• What the work actually looks like - Let's be upfront, because we want people who go in with eyes open and stay the whole season:
• Some calves will not make the grade and are sent away to the meatworks. DO you understand it's the circle of life?

• It's winter, it's early, it's real farm work. Starts at 4–5am, often in the cold and dark. Days run 10–12 hours.

   

• You'll deal with muck. Poo, pee, effluent, chemical smells — this is dairy farming, and it's part of the job every single day.

   

• You're on your feet all day, in all weather, and you need to be able to lift and carry at least 20kg confidently.

   

• The first 2–3 weeks are the hardest. Your body is building strength and stamina it doesn't have yet. Expect to be tired — that's normal, not a sign you're failing.

   

• You'll start at the bottom — cleaning, sorting, the repetitive stuff. That's how everyone starts.

   

• It gets busier as the season ramps up, and everyone gets tired together. We look out for each other and we ask you to do the same.

   

• Why people love it …

Accommodation is available on farm at $100 a week - private or shared depending on availability. You will need to contribute to the power and provide your own internet.

$26.00 per hour. Approx 50 hours a week.
