Dairy Farm Assistant

Experienced Dairy Assistants wanted for the busy calving season in Southland. Multiple opportunities available from 1st August, including short-term and couple-friendly roles. 

These roles are ideal for candidates who enjoy being involved in all aspects of the season, from calf care and animal health through to milking and general farm duties.

Please do not apply unless you have previous dairy farming experience. These are not entry-level positions and applicants must be confident working within a dairy farm environment.

• 2 x Dairy Assistants
• 3 -6 month roles
• Suitable for a couple or two friends
• Two neighbouring farms with accommodation nearby
• Live together and enjoy the same rostered days off

• Milking and shed operations
• Assisting during calving
• Animal health and calf care
• Bringing cows in and moving stock
• Feeding out and general farm duties
• Plant wash and shed hygiene
• Supporting the wider farm team during the busy spring period

• Previous dairy farming experience essential
• Good understanding of animal health and welfare
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliable and able to work early starts
• Good English communication skills
• Full driver's licence preferred
• Legal right to work in New Zealand (AEWV not available)
