Work & Live at Awastone, Riverside Hospitality Work in the Heart of the North Island
A unique opportunity to live and work by the beautiful Rangitikei River in Mangaweka. We’re looking for awesome people to join us for the 2026-27 Season.
Perfect for solo travellers, couples, or friends, this is a great way to enjoy a nature-based lifestyle while being part of a fun, family-run team.
We are located on SH1 between Wellington and Taupo. We offer river adventures, riverside camping/accommodation, and a licensed café, all in a wicked outdoor setting.
Work Opportunities
- Café & Bar Work - Engaging with guests, serving, taking orders, running food/drinks, clearing/cleaning.
- Reception & Guest Services - Assist with check-ins, bookings, and customer inquiries.
- Housekeeping - Helping keep our cabins and facilities clean and welcoming.
- Gardening & Landscaping - Helping maintain the beautiful outdoor spaces of Awastone.
- Chef / Cook - Supporting daily kitchen operations: prep, service, cleaning, and closing (experience preferred)
- Kitchen Hand - Assisting with kitchen duties, prep, cleaning etc
Experience in any of these fields is awesome, we will provide training and favour keen learners, hard workers and good yarns!
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly and adaptable attitude
- Hospitality or customer service experience preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to work in different roles as needed
- Ability to work in a small, tight-knit team
- Enjoys nature and an outdoor environment
