Housekeeper Motel South Island

Are you a friendly and reliable backpacker who would appreciate your own self-contained accommodation in Hanmer Springs, in exchange for cleaning our motel units for 12 hours per week? The accommodation is a self-contained studio unit, including kitchenette, bathroom, power, internet, parking and garden access. 

You will be working alongside the manager from 10am until approximately 1.30pm, which leaves you free to either explore the area or work elsewhere in the village in the afternoons/evenings. 

The job requires bed making, cleaning showers, basins and toilets, vacuuming, dusting and floor mopping. You need to be reasonably fit, have an eye for detail and be able to work under time pressure. Full and ongoing training will be provided. 

Should you work more than 12 hours per week, you will be paid at the hourly rate of $25.87, which includes 8% holiday pay. 

Applicants must have a valid NZ work visa. 

This position is available from early July 2026.
