Tamarillo Fruit Pickers

We are seeking two (2) people to help with our tamarillo harvest starting ASAP. Would suit a couple or 2 friends as you will be working together as a mini team. Full training is provided. 

The style of picking is the opposite of kiwifruit picking - we don't strip pick, we select on red colour. If you are colour blind unfortunately you would be unsuitable for this role. As our trees are high, you will need to be of above average height, minimum 170cm tall.

We pick fruit 5 days a week (40 hrs) and weekends to make up for a rain day with prior agreement with you. We harvest until October. Work the Winter and have your Summer free! Ideally we are looking for a couple who can commit to work for approximatel 8 weeks.

We are seeking people that are confident, fit, enthusiastic team players that can work to a consistent high level without constant supervision that meets our industry / customer quality expectations. A very good understanding of the English language is required for training and communication purposes.

The orchard is located rurally approximately 10km from Paengaroa or 20 km from Te Puke - own transport is essential. We do not provide accommodation however, there is a range of accommodation options close by (holiday parks, freedom camping, private room rentals). We are happy to provide advice and recommendations based on our previous staff's experiences.

You will need to provide evidence that you are permitted to work in New Zealand (WHV) / NZ / AU Citizen /Resident and have a current IRD number and bank account.
