A two MICHELIN Key boutique lodge seeks two people who hold a high standard — at the table and in the garden.

Following two MICHELIN Keys and a Cuisine Good Food Guide Hat, we're growing our small team. Wallingford is a largely original 1853 homestead in Central Hawke's Bay, hosting up to 14 guests at a time — a nine-course degustation on Saturday evenings, share-plate dinners on Fridays, and the occasional rather grand wedding. A guest's experience begins at the gate and ends at the table, and we're looking for two people who care about each, the way we do. These roles would suit a couple looking to live and work somewhere they can both take real pride in.

Groundskeeper & Maintenance

Before a guest tastes a thing, they've walked the drive, the lawns, the garden beds and the truffle grove. You'll treat an edge, a hedge line and a raked path the way our kitchen treats a plate — noticing the fallen branch before anyone else, fixing the sticking door without being asked, keeping the property immaculate every day. The country has its own ideas too — when a tree comes down in a storm, we'll call on you, and those callouts are paid extra. This role matters every bit as much as front of house.

The role

We're not looking to oversee staff — we want people who already hold themselves to a high standard and run with it, in tune with our values of generosity, warmth and detail.

What we offer

• $28–$33 per hour, depending on experience
• Approximately 40 hours per fortnight per role (may flex with the season)
• Seasonal contract through to April, with the possibility of extending
• Accommodation available, meals provided on shift
• A small, close team — and two Border Collies, Arthur and Remi, who'll happily supervise
