Do you enjoy working with people?  At Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, we're looking for Lifeguards to join our team.  Our Lifeguards play a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for our guests. This is more than just pool supervision – it's about delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high facility standards, and being part of a team that helps create unforgettable experiences for visitors from around New Zealand and the world.

About the Role

You'll help keep our guests safe and comfortable while upholding the high standards they expect. You'll be a visible, approachable presence around the pools, offering assistance when needed and helping create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Key responsibilities include:

• Customer safety in and around the pools to ensure a safe environment
• Providing first aid assistance when required
• Monitoring pool conditions, temperatures, and water quality
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the facility
• Assisting with water testing and basic operational duties
• Supporting general maintenance tasks as required
• Delivering exceptional customer service and guest experiences
• Assisting in other operational areas when required through multi-skilling

What We're Looking For

• Has a current First Aid Certificate (or is willing to obtain one)
• Is a confident swimmer.  National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate, as training will be provided.
• Enjoys interacting with people and providing outstanding customer service
• Works well as part of a team
• Is reliable, adaptable, and willing to pitch in where needed
• Takes pride in their personal presentation and work standards
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

No previous lifeguarding experience is required for Lifeguard positions, as we provide full training and qualifications.
