Kiwifruit Flower Thinning

Tairawhiti Contracting Limited is a horticultural contracting business based in sunny Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island. 

We are currently recruiting staff for kiwifruit flower thinning, starting between Monday 28 September and Thursday 1 October.

We are looking for 25 people who are honest, reliable, physically fit, and healthy. Applicants should be at least 165cm tall, to reach overhead vines.

Previous experience is an advantage but not absolutely necessary as we will provide full training if you are willing to work and have a positive attitude towards learning.

You must be a NZ resident/citizen or have a valid working holiday visa. Note, we cannot employ anyone on an SSE visa.

Pay rate: $26 per hour including 8% Holiday Pay, paid weekly into your bank account

Work Duration: About 4 Weeks. Ongoing work may be available for the right people up to Christmas time in apple thinning.

Working hours: 40-50 hours a week, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting. 7am – 4.30pm.

Location of work: Gisborne

If you have your own transport, that would be great. If not, we may be able to provide transport.

We have awesome cheap accommodation, situated very close to the job, for a limited number of people.
