Housekeeper & Receptionist Duo - Paihia, Bay of Islands 

Join Our small, family-run lodge in beautiful Paihia this summer. 

We're looking for two reliable, friendly and hardworking people to join Our team from mid-October 2026 to 31 March 2027. An earlier start immediately is also possible on a work-for-accommodation basis while you get settled into Paihia. 

The role combines housekeeping and reception, including: Cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms and communal areas Making beds, changing linen and managing laundry Restocking guest supplies and reporting maintenance issues Welcoming guests and handling check-ins Managing bookings, payments and guest enquiries Providing local information and resolving guest requests Keeping the lodge and outdoor areas clean and welcoming.

We're looking for people who are reliable, trustworthy, organized and confident working independently, with great attention to detail and friendly communication skills. Hospitality experience is helpful but not essential.

Accommodation Arrangement Each worker will be paid for 10 hours of work per week at $24/hour, with the equivalent amount deducted from their pay to cover the cost of accommodation. In exchange, you'll have a private room with an ensuite bathroom, shared with your fellow worker, plus access to: @ Communal kitchen I TV room I Outdoor courtyard I Wi-Fi I Laundry I Street parking This arrangement allows you to have your accommodation covered through your weekly work hours, while still giving you the opportunity to take on up to 20 additional paid hours per week at $24/hour. 

Paid Work Available - Average 20 additional paid hours per week are available, either split between the two workers or taken by one person. Pay: $24/hour Hours are scheduled Monday—Sunday between 8am—7pm. Ideally, we would have one person work 30 hours per week (20 paid, 10 deducted for accommodation and bills). The second person would work 10 hours in the morning to help with room changeovers. This can be flexible if the hours would like to be split but we need both available most mornings between 10-12. Additional paid hours may be available as we get busier during the year.
