CLEANING TEAM LEADER
Haven Stays — Upmarket Airbnb Property Management, Queenstown
Full-time | 30+ hours per week | $30 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Haven Stays looks after a portfolio of premium short-term rental homes in Queenstown. We're after a hands-on Cleaning Team Leader to lead a small team through daily turnovers — and to be on the tools alongside them for most of every shift.
You'll keep the team to time, make sure each home is reset, styled and guest-ready within its turnaround window, and carry out the final quality checks that sign a property off. You'll report to the Operations Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Clean alongside your team on every shift — this is the majority of the role
• Lead, coordinate and motivate a small team through daily turnovers
• Allocate properties and tasks, adapting as bookings change, and keep turnaround windows met
• Carry out quality checks and final inspections to our five-star standard
• Train, support and mentor the team, holding standards consistent
• Flag maintenance issues, damage or missing items promptly
• Manage supplies and stock levels, and report shortages
• Pitch in on extras — linen and laundry runs, restocking, the occasional job outside the usual turnover
• Cover guest messaging from time to time
• Report regularly to the Operations Manager on team performance and property status
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Proven cleaning experience in short-term rentals, hotels or high-end homes, ideally with team leadership or supervisory background
• Exceptional attention to detail — you catch what others miss, and hold your team to the same
• Reliability, ownership and accountability
• Clear, confident communication; comfortable giving direction and feedback
• Ability to work independently, prioritise, and manage people across multiple properties in a shift
• Good physical fitness and stamina
• Valid NZ work visa or residency — we can't consider applicants without current NZ work rights
• Based in Queenstown, available to commit at least six months — longer term ideally
• Weekend availability (essential — most turnovers fall on check-in / check-out days)
• Full, valid driver's licence
• Good spoken and written English, for team communication, reporting, property instructions and guest messaging
THE DETAILS
• Role: 1 x full-time position
• Hours: 30+ per week
• Shifts: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Rate: $30 per hour, paid bi-weekly
• Reports to: Operations Manager
