WPT Horticulture is based in Sunny Gisborne, and currently grows 80 ha of export and
domestic market crops, including gold kiwifruit, persimmons, citrus, and blueberries, and has
recently developed 30 ha of apples. WPT is a Top Maori horticulture Business award-
winner of 2023.

We are seeking seasonal workers for Kiwifruit Thinning. 100 positions available
Minimum height requirement: 160 cm (to easily reach overhead vines)
Position: Kiwifruit Bud thinning
Pay rate: $26.46 per hour, including 8% holiday pay, paid weekly by Bank transfer.
Important note: Training will be provided, but we expect you to do a set number of bays daily after a certain time is given. We can discuss this at the interview stage. You must have your own reliable transportation to go to work and back
Location: Gisborne, East Coast (North Island)
Duration: 4 weeks, for thinning. Long-term work is available for the right people.
Start Date: 1st week of October
Camping & Accommodation options:
- The campsite is available for $60 a week per person. You must have an SC Van. Kitchen, shower, and toilet facilities are available. Spot available for only 30 people.
- On-site accommodation is available in a 3-bedroom house. Sharing a room/house with other backpackers. $150 a week per person (power and Wi-Fi bill included)
- Accommodation in Gisborne city centre can be arranged through a third party. Sharing a house/room with other backpackers: $150 a week per person (power and Wi-Fi bill included)

You must be physically fit and healthy as orchard work can be physically demanding and hard work, and ready to work in hot/wet weather.
If you are a hard worker willing to learn new tasks, have a positive attitude, and want to work outdoors, this is the right option.
