Backpacker Crew Member

We’re looking for one fun, bubbly, and friendly person to come join the Finlay Jacks crew in Taupō!

This is more than just working for accommodation. We want people who are keen to get involved, meet people from all over the world, make lifelong friends and create some bloody good memories along the way.

We’re a super chilled, social hostel and we’re looking for people who are friendly, easy-going and happy to muck in. You’ll be living alongside the rest of the crew in our staff room, so being someone who gets along with everyone and enjoys being part of a little hostel family is a big one for us.

The role:
• Up to 12 hours per week — 3 hours a day, 4 days a week
• Cleaning shifts from 10am–1pm
• Your 12 hours of work each week covers your accommodation in our staff room
• For payroll purposes, your hours are paid at $24/hour gross and your accommodation is then deducted from your pay
• This means you’re essentially exchanging your 12 hours of work for your accommodation
• Minimum stay of 6 weeks
• Start date: Mid September

There are also plenty of restaurant and hospitality jobs around Taupō that work really well alongside your shifts, and we're happy to point you towards some good places to work.

If you're looking for somewhere to just sleep and do your hours, this probably isn't the one. If you want to meet heaps of people, have a laugh, get involved and leave Taupō with some lifelong mates and great memories — come nest with us!
