Dairy Farm Position Available – Canterbury

MUST BE READY FOR INTERVIEW IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS!

We are a well-organised dairy farm located in the South Island, just 40 minutes from Christchurch, 30 minutes from Ashburton, and 15 minutes from Rolleston. These nearby towns offer easy access to gyms, supermarkets, shops, and other amenities.

About the position

We are looking for one person only (please, no couples) with a good level of English. Previous farming experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided for the right person.

This is a fixed term position from 15th July till mid December.

We are looking for someone who is:

Must have eligibility to work in nz (visa)

Honest and reliable

own reliable vehicle for transportation

Willing to learn

Able to work well as part of a multicultural team

What you will be doing 

Milking cows (usually twice daily)

Bringing cows to and from the milking shed

Cleaning and washing the milking equipment and dairy shed

Checking the health and welfare of cows

Feeding cows and monitoring feed supplies

Moving fences and managing grazing areas

Assisting with calving-related tasks (if applicable during the season)

Identifying and reporting sick or injured animals

Cleaning farm facilities and maintaining a tidy work environment

Helping with general farm maintenance (fences, water troughs, gates, etc.)

Operating farm vehicles or machinery (if trained and authorized)

Following health and safety procedures at all times

Working as part of a team and taking instructions from farm manager

7 days on, 2 days off

7 days on, 2 days off

7 days on, 3 days off

We are flexible when time off is needed for appointments or other important commitments.

Pay

Hourly paid position

Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week

Competitive pay rate, negotiable depending on experience
