Holiday Park Assistants X2

Holdens Bay Holiday Park is located just 10 minutes from Rotorua city centre and close to many of Rotorua’s best attractions. We offer a range of self-contained units, cabins, powered camping sites and an Airbnb property.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking couple to join our team as Park Assistants. This is a hands-on role suited to a couple who enjoy working together, take pride in their work and are happy to be involved in all aspects of running a busy holiday park.

Applicants must be available to start from the end of September and commit to a minimum of 6 months.

About the Role

Park Assistants are an integral part of our team and are responsible for helping keep the holiday park clean, tidy, welcoming and well maintained.

The role is varied, with cleaning being a key part of the daily work. Tasks include:

• Cleaning guest rooms, cabins and communal facilities to a high standard
• Processing and folding laundry
• Keeping communal areas clean and presentable
• Maintaining tidy grounds and outdoor areas
• Gardening, painting and general maintenance
• Assisting with reception duties when required
• Helping with general day-to-day tasks around the holiday park

Cleaning needs to be completed thoroughly and efficiently within the required timeframes.

We would ideally have one person with a stronger interest in cleaning and maintenance, and the other with a stronger interest in cleaning and reception, although both people will be expected to assist across different areas of the park.

Reception Duties May Include

• Welcoming guests and providing friendly customer service
• Facilitating guest check-ins and check-outs
• Handling booking enquiries, modifications and cancellations by phone, email and in person
• Processing guest payments
• Completing daily cash-up procedures
• Assisting guests with general enquiries and requests

Maintenance Duties May Include

• Gardening and general grounds maintenance
• Painting and touch-up work
• Keeping outdoor areas tidy and presentable
• General upkeep around the holiday park

The Ideal Candidates

We are looking for a couple who are:

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Responsible, hardworking and reliable
• Friendly and approachable with good customer service skills
• Comfortable working both as a team and independently
• Able to follow instructions and work efficiently
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proud of the standard of their work
• Happy to undertake cleaning duties every day
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• Willing to live on-site and assist with after-hours responsibilities
• Available to commit to a minimum of 6 months

Previous hospitality experience, particularly in housekeeping, reception, holiday parks, accommodation or maintenance, is a strong advantage. However, we are happy to consider applicants from other backgrounds who can demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

Schedule

• Up to 5 days per week
• 2 days off each week
• Hours will fluctuate depending on occupancy and operational requirements, generally between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm
• Some after-hours responsibilities will be required as part of living on-site
• Start date: Monday, 28 September 2026
• Minimum 6-month commitment required
• This position is for a couple only
