Contract Interior Painter – Milford Sound Lodge, Fiordland

Milford Sound Lodge is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and adventure-driven interior painter to refresh our premium guest chalets and lodge facilities. This is a short-term contract role (approximately one month of work) located in the spectacular heart of Fiordland National Park. It is the perfect opportunity for a qualified trade professional or an experienced Working Holiday backpacker looking to combine high-quality touch-up work with a unique deep-wilderness living experience.

The Role

We are looking for an efficient painter to execute high-standard interior maintenance and touch-up painting across our accommodation, guest and staff areas. Because this role focuses heavily on touch-ups and refreshing existing spaces, you must be skilled at color matching, surface preparation, precise cutting-in, and blending finishes seamlessly while ensuring minimal disruption to our daily guest operations.

Applicant Requirements

• Experience: Proven interior painting experience with a sharp eye for detail.
• Scope: Comfortable executing mostly precise touch-up tasks and minor repairs.
• Efficiency: Ability to work independently, manage time well, and maintain clean spaces.
• Visa Status: Must hold a valid New Zealand Work Visa (Working Holiday Visas welcome).
• Commitment: Available for an immediate start for approx. 1-month contract (work to be compete by September 2026 - also flexible for block work over winter e.g. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off).
