Kitchen Superstar

Hey there. We are Little River Cafe, and also, The One Next Door. A bustling cafe, with a funky little restaurant 100 meters down the road. 

We are looking for two experienced people to join our team to help us through the upcoming months. We are hiring people for our restaurant with experience is kitchen service or line cooking, wood fired pizza making, and food preparation. We are hiring people for the cafe with experience in line cooking, and coffee making. We are super flexible and will adapt or create a role based on your skills. Work could involve hours at both the cafe, and the restaurant if your skills allow, for example. 

Our cafe is an extremely busy business, nestled in the beautiful valley of Little River, Banks Peninsula. We are surrounded by hills, farmland and beaches and this is a beautiful area to call home. We are on a major tourist route so the summer season is a hectic, fast paced period. At the cafe, you would be working as part of the kitchen crew, working on breakfast service, assisting through service and doing food preparation, and  / or coffee making. We have a large, really young, fun team and it is a positive environment to be part of.

Our restaurant (The One Next Door) is a small 55 seat restaurant, with a wood fired pizza oven and a really varied, tasty menu that changes often. Working here would include cooking to order, pizza making, food preparation. 

Working at either business will require you to have some decent experience in any of the roles mentioned above. If you have experience in one of them… great. If you are experienced in all of them, holy shit!! That's amazing, please get in touch.

We also have an option for woofing work while working if that could work for certain couples. We have had couples in the past where one works full time, the other does woofing for their accommodation. We are very flexible and we can really create a job for someone based on their experience and skill set. We have accomodation options on site with an apartment right above our cafe, with views of the surrounding hills and farmland.

We are ideally looking at an immediate start date, and a minimum three months stay, but more would be ideal at our end. Again, we are flexible on this.
