Mix'd is one of Napier's hottest new additions, bringing an incredibly diverse cocktail menu and an impressive share plate style food menu to Hawkes Bay, one of New Zealand's finest and most famed food and drinks regions. Where buttermilk crispy chicken, lamb rump, and charcuterie boards are some of the favourites that feature on our menu.

Mix’d Cocktail Bar in beautiful Ahuriri, Napier is looking for a reliable and hard-working Chef (Junior/Commis/ CDP) to support our kitchen crew behind the scenes and help us deliver the high standards and quality of food that our customers expect. A fixed term contract is up for grabs which suits travelers who want to move on after a few months. Likewise, for the right person we can offer a permanent contract. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting with food prep
• Working a section independently - Plating desserts, charcuterie boards and other cold plates
• Assisting with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on the pass, including using the fryers, gas hobs and plating
• Supporting the team during busy service periods
• Washing dishes, kitchen tools, and glassware efficiently
• Responsible for keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organized
• Managing rubbish and recycling, and maintaining hygiene standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Someone with a love and passion for food
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is desired 
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• A team player with good communication skills
• Flexible availability, including evenings/ late nights, weekends and public holiday
