Helicopter Ground Crew Van Driver

We are seeking a seasonal team member to join our small, family and owned and operated helicopter company in a ground crew and driving role. 

This is varied role with our ground crew chipping in to help in the office, drive the vans and load our helicopters. When we aren't flying general maintenance at the hangar, staff properties and cleaning of fleet vehicles are all a part of the role. 

We are a seven day a week business and weather dependent helicopter activity so being able to adapt quickly to an ever-changing day, commonsense, ability to work unsupervised and under pressure, flexibility with working hours and excellent customer service are essential. We will train you in our system & procedures and generally try to operate this position on a 5:2 roster.

A full New Zealand driver's license, fluent English and being legally entitled to work in New Zealand are also a must. You must be able to get a ‘P’ Passenger Endorsement when you start the role. This involves a police check from NZ or your home country, driving history report if you have not had an NZ full license for two years and a driver's medical. Times for different countries can vary from 3 weeks to 6 months if you do not already have the police check so this may be a factor in your application. 

Wages start from $28 per hour. A minimum of 30hours per week will be available, starting in November through until end of March - April 2027. If you don't have your own accommodation, we have a room available to rent in a shared staff house at $225 per week including basic expenses.

We are located in a remote area on the West Coast 5 hours’ drive from both Christchurch and Queenstown but if you are happy living in a small town without a McDonalds and enjoy the outdoors, you’ll find a lot do here with great fishing, hunting and hiking in our beautiful National Park.
