Apricot And Fruit Thinning

Fairview Orchard is a multi fruit orchard which means it is likely that you will work on many different fruit types and have many different experiences throughout the season, we are a smaller orchard of 24 hectares and have our own on site distillery and cidery with lots of awesome products from Schnapps, Slivovitz, Gins, Brandies and Ciders we do not like fruit going to waste so we try make a home for every fruit that we grow.

We have on site accommodation facilities for those traveling in motor homes/vans etc. which includes a kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, laundry and wifi. We also have a limited number of bedrooms on offer too if you get in quick, (we try to reserve these for staff that want to stay for the duration of the season).

We are now open for applications for our 2026 / 2027 season!! 

We start on October 13 with apricot thinning which will also lead into nectarine, peach, plum and finally apple thinning.  The thinning season can run through to the start of December, there is likely no harvest work until after Christmas. We only want people who want to stay here for a minimum of 6 weeks please. That been said on our orchard you could have the opportunity to work from October - April as we have a wide range of fruits that last that duration. 

The beauty of our orchard is that you will get the opportunity to work with many different fruits: apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, apples and cherries we have them all, with that in mind you need to be a fast learner, dynamic and adapt well to change.

We have and encourage a diverse and multi cultural work place, you will need to be physically fit have the ability to climb a 2 meter ladder and move around when your at the top of it. You also need to be able to pick 18kg up off the ground if needed. The ladders are heavy, the sun is hot, the pace is fast, the atmosphere - brilliant.

Camp sites cost $12.50/person/night

Rooms are $15/person/night
