Hey,
Are you looking to hang out at the start of the awesome Abel Tasman for a while? Are you someone who can turn their hand to a few different tasks? And you don't mind working in the mornings and evenings? And you like to keep a space tidy? We are looking for an absolute All Rounder starting in April until the end of Winter. A great opportunity for the right person so do get in touch.
We are The Barn Cabins and Camp out in the beautiful Marahau. Come on over and see what we are about. We have a range of accommodation and tourism options, a nursery, activities on our doorstep, farm-raised meat, a veggie garden and some friendly chickens running around.
We are looking for a fun, hard-working, responsible and enthusiastic person who is looking to have a great time working right at the start of the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. The work will be completing basic maintenance tasks, reception customer facing, cleaning and housekeeping, keeping the place tidy, helping out in the nursery and odd jobs around the place.
Ideal candidates should have:
The ability and confidence working in a team and independently.
Reception or customer facing role experience. We do sell barista coffees if you have tried that before and also have a knowledge or passion for the Abel Tasman is a bonus!
Flexibility with working hours and tasks - this role includes responsible of taking care of the site, holding the phone for after hours calls, maintenance and reception tasks. Someone who can have a friendly but firm approach to guests when needed is essential.
Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, water pumps and electrical fuse boxes is desirable but not essential for the right person. Full training provided as appropriate.
The desire to learn new skills and grow, the ability to take on responsibility and problem solve ‘on the go’.
A friendly personality, both with customers and other team members!

Job details:
- Accommodation is provided onsite in your own shared facilities cabin for $165 per week. Option to camp in your own van also.
- Pay is $25.00 per hour.
- Length of time for this role is for the winter season, April to October/November. Exceptions can be discussed for the right person.
- Full training provided.
- Must be available to work up to 5 days a week. Minimum hours are 15 per week, but can be up to 30+
- Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, calm under pressure, great teamwork, and a proactive nature will set you up well for this role. Being flexible working with others and on your own is important as some days are busy and some days are quiet.
- Must be available to be on call for up to 5x nights a week. A friendly and helpful phone manner is required.
- Need to have a valid Working Holiday Visa, IRD tax number and a NZ or Wise bank account.
