House Keeping

Woofing - Whether you're passing through New Plymouth and want to save on accommodation costs during your stay while you check out and explore this beautiful area, or you're thinking about working here for a while and want to save money for future travels, Ariki Backpackers might be your place. The duties involve working along side a small but fun international team doing various cleaning tasks or making beds. We all work together to smash out the morning hostel make over. You'd start around 10am and be done by noon at the latest ; ) One of our beloved long term woofers is leaving us for further travel, the duration of the position is open ended, starting from 12 July.

Under the new Government rules this is a paid job, working 10 hours per week, (@ $25+8% holiday pay) so you must already hold a valid Working Holiday Visa and have an IRD number. This is a live in position staying in a shared dorm and your accommodation and expenses are $250.00 per week which will be deducted from your weekly pay which is the equivalent of the old rule working for accommodation, so you WILL NOT RECEIVE A WAGE but you will not be out of pocket. We will issue you with a contract explaining this when you start.
