Forklift Operator

We are looking for a forklift operator to assist us with storage of our sweet potato crop during the current harvest. The person will be required to load 500kg produce bins on to a heavy truck trailer, towed by a tractor.  The person will be then required to drive the tractor to another part of the farm and unload the trailer with another forklift. The job will also require some levelling of produce by hand. You require an NZ or overseas forklift license to be able to do this. Work starts immediately and will continue into May.  

We endeavour to work 5 plus days a week. Preference will be given to those who can commit to the full period. You will need a current visa, IRD number and NZ bank account. There is accommodation available on or near the jobsite – either in a farmhouse or we have facilities for those who live out of their van. There is also a campsite on the beach just a short distance from the farm. If you have a partner there is a good chance, we will also be able to offer her/him a role working on one of the harvesters. This is a good opportunity to work and stay with all sorts of likeminded travellers as well as Kiwi's.

In your time off there is plenty to do and see. New Zealand longest driveable beach is just a 15 minutes drive away. Inviting for fishing, surfing and exploring. The east coast and Whangarei is a 45 minutes drive, the same as the Kai Iwi Lakes, where you can go swimming, kayaking, walking or just hanging out, as well as the Waipoua Forest were you can meet the legendary tree giant Tane Mahuta.
