Cafe Assistant / Barista

About the Company:

Albany Boys Cafe is a local cafe on State Highway 8 in beautiful Lake Tekapo. We are looking to fill the position of Barista and Front of House for the next 3 months or longer.

Located remotely in a picturesque town, known as an international dark sky reserve area, Lake Tekapo is well known for its snow mountains, beautiful lupin flower, and a stunning Tiffany-blue Lake.

Our cafe opens Mon to Sun from 7:30am to 8pm, you will work on shifts according to weekly roster for 30 hours minimum. If wish to work long hours, you can make up to 50 hours a week.

About the Role:

-  Your tasks will be split between serving customers at the counter and/or providing table service, along with general duties to ensure that the Cafe looks at its best every day

-  You will need to be reliable, physically fit and have a spring in your step that enables you to work at a fast pace.  You'll also be a brilliant communicator and thrive in a busy team environment

-  Promotion to coffee making / barista is available once you are familiar with above tasks

About You:

As a pivotal member of our team, you will be:

-  Be flexible to work/learn all areas of the cafe

-  Be available to work weekend shifts and can stay at least till mid Jan next year

-  Of sound English communication skills

-  Enjoy meeting people and following instructions

-  Can commit to work for 2 months or longer
