SUMMER SEASON POSITION

Lake Hawea is the perfect location for adventurers, and those seeking a bit more balance

We require an experienced Chef de Partie to join our busy Restaurant, Cafe and Take Away operation here in Lake Hawea, a small village on the shores of a beautiful alpine lake just 20 minutes from Wanaka township.  We are positioned as a resupply point for Te Araroa Trail walkers, and the area is considered the gateway to many wilderness experiences in the Southern Alps.

Our licensed Restaurant & Bar is currently open four nights and two lunches each week, and we will be growing this offering as the summer unfolds.  We require an organised, well-presented Chef de Partie to lead service during our busy season, with the input of Director / Owner-Operator who is also an executive Chef.

What's on offer?

Chef de Partie
- Rostered hours - 12pm-late 
- 4-5 day weeks
- up to 40 hours per week
- November 2026 start
- Must be available to work through the busy summer period (end of March 2027 at the earliest).

Experience Required
- Team orientated
- Organised / cool head
- Good command of spoken English
- Safe food practise
- Proven knife skills 
- Kitchen leadership
- Confidence planning and executing commercially viable dishes

Lake Hawea is 15km drive from Wanaka township, candidates require their own transport and accommodation.  

Positions commence Nov 1 2026, and we prefer at least 20 weeks availability from start date.  Foreign applicants require a valid Work VISA.
