This is the ultimate tour for die-hard Lord of the Rings fans. If you came to New Zealand hoping to tread where many hobbits have gone before, this is the tour for you.
It's fun-packed from start to finish and you get to see up to 25 set locations including Hobbiton Woods. Just in case you'd forgotten particular scenes, you'll get the chance to review the movie clips on location, as well as hearing fascinating behind-the-scenes stories.
"most fun part of the tour is being able to dress up with props and re-enact scenes"
There's also a stop at the Weta Cave , where you can see the technical wizardry that went into making the movies. And there's a great chance to pick up some fantastic souvenirs and check out the changing exhibitions showcasing the movies Weta Workshop have helped create.
Probably the best and most fun part of the tour is being able to dress up with props and re-enact scenes from the movie with your friends, which can have some hilarious results!
You can be a hobbit in Hobbiton Woods or Legolas at the 'Legolas Tree'. Or maybe you'd prefer to follow in the footsteps of hobbits, dwarves and elves and recreate scenes like the Outer Shire, Great River Anduin or Rivendell. It definitely makes you feel part of the excitement of making the movie as you watch the scene come alive before your eyes!
