Kinloch Wilderness Retreat is a wellness-led wilderness operation at the far end of Lake Whakatipu, 1hr from Queenstown, beyond Glenorchy. The business spans a lakeside retreat, the Glenorchy Lake House, and Akin, a café in the village. We offer a range of visitor accommodation types along with an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, alongside a variety of activities. The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated full-time Sous Chef/Cook to join us. This is a live-on-site position, working primarily on breakfast and lunch services, and occasional dinner services, five days a week. We provide staff accommodation and may have other roles available if you are applying with a partner.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook the breakfast and lunch menus as part of a small team 

- Help prep the set dinner menu of the day – execute as needed 

- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes 

- Uphold high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety   

Requirements: 

- Right to work in New Zealand  

- Ideally at least 2 years' experience working as a sous chef/line cook in a professional capacity 

- Excellent time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment 

- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication 

- Able to tailor dishes to accommodate dietary requirements 

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
