Wine Bar Front Of House

Cellar Door is an award-winning wine bar in the historic Christchurch Arts Centre.

We are looking for experienced front-of-house and wine professionals to join our team for the busy summer season.

The ideal candidate will have a love of wine, WSET Level 2 or practical equivalent, and at least 3 years' experience in bar and restaurant service in New Zealand or overseas.

We aim to provide an outstanding wine experience, featuring a large range of wine tasting flights alongside fine local and international wine, craft beer, spirits, and all-day menu to match. 

In 2026 Cellar Door received MICHELIN Selection, Wine Spectator 2-Glass “Best Of” Award of Excellence, and Cuisine “One Hat”.

Commencement begins October-November, with positions available until April.

This position would be ideal for someone looking to go on to work vintage and harvest at a New Zealand winery.

We are open 12pm-11pm 7 days, peak times are nights and weekends.
