Happy to come to you, currently I am around Twizel, but will drive to Christchurch next week.
After 6 months of travelling around New Zealand with this wonderful vehicle, my journey is now continuing and the Pajero is ready for its next adventure.
Whether you want to camp at the beach, explore remote mountain roads or simply get away from the usual tourist routes – this Pajero gives you the freedom to do so.
And although it might not look like a traditional camper from the outside, it is surprisingly spacious inside. The middle and rear seats can be folded down to create a large sleeping and camping area. Or just convert it into a mighty campervan- it is a perfect base car to do so.

- Oil changes have generally been carried out every approximately 5,000 km
Known issues
- Rear door handle mechanism
The plastic mechanism inside the rear door handle has broken due to brittle plastic. As I have been travelling without a fixed address, I have unfortunately not been able to order the replacement part.
The parts are readily available online and cost approximately NZD 10–40. OEM parts numbers: MB669338, MR230032
At the moment, I simply open the rear door from the inside using a cord. It works without any problem, but obviously it is not the perfect long-term solution.
- Paint on the roof
The paint on the roof is starting to peel slightly in some areas.
The rest of the vehicle was repainted approximately three years ago and is therefore in considerably better cosmetic condition.
Before buying a campervan or car we recommend that you get the vehicle checked by an independent mechanic or have an inspection by the AA undertaken to ensure there are no major faults or problems. If you are renting or taking advantage of a buyback scheme make sure you have a valid contract in place.
