Ford Econovan Maxi Hi Roof $18000

located in Auckland and listed under Cars & Campervans
WOF: 11-11-2026 | REGO: 25-07-2026 | Mileage: 219000km | Transmission: Manual | Fuel: Petrol

1991 Ford Econovan Maxi LWB

5 Speed manual gearbox

2.0l petrol carburetted engine

Recently flew through VTNZ warrant, the guys were impressed how tidy the van was for an older model. It’s a fantastic van to drive, sits on the road beautifully. Plenty of power with having the 2.0l petrol engine with the 5 speed manual gearbox, being so much better for driving up and over hills.  I’ve repainted exterior of van and have cleaned and used underseal under the van, so its ready to hit the road on your next holiday.

Heres a list of things done on the van

Replaced radiator

Engine and gearbox mounts replaced

Swaybar bushes and both tie rods

All new exhaust

Engine, gearbox, diff and brake fluids all changed

New front brake pads

Rebuilt carb

2 new tyres

Rear leaf springs and bushes

Has rear and right blind spot cameras, that are on the screen to use as the rear vision mirror

Central locking on the 2 front doors and the rear, couldn’t figure out how to do the side door

Mongoose alarm

Completely stripped and insulated, with sound proofing to make the van so quiet while travelling

60l fresh water, 40l grey water tank, cassette toilet with bracket to comply with self containment laws. Cold water faucet over sink, hot water califont for shower and to wash up after dinner.

12V 80AH AGM deep cycle battery with a DC to DC charger and solar panel. The charger controls charging from the alternator on the van while you drive, then when your parked up it switches over to use the solar panel when your parked up relaxing. 21 inch TV with a manual set sky dish to pick up your favourite free view channels, 3 way fridge 240V/12V/LPG gas, extractor fan, 2 x USB/ C type chargers. LED lights in the ceiling, outdoor sensor lights. Awning and large tent that joins to the back of the van for heaps of extra room. 2 gas burner cooker, can sit and enjoy your dinner seated with the table that comes out over the legs to make it easier to eat. When your finished and cleaned up, simply bring down the bed frame from either side and make your bed ready to enjoy a movie on TV before going to sleep.

I’ve been chipping away on this van the past year, and am still adding/tidying up things as I go. Just built a box that will sit Infront of the fridge as a step to get up into the bed and also to act as more storage.

Please feel free to ask any questions, I had originally planned on doing it up to go live in and tour around NZ. But I’ve gained a few extra kgs around the waist, so I feel I’ve outgrown the van and need to upsize to a caravan.

PLEASE NOTE: From June 2023 all newly certified self contained vehicles must have a permanent fixed toilet. Vehicles certified before this date can still be used until June 2025 or until the current certification expires if before this date. Find out more here
