Self Contained Car With Rooftop Tent $4500
A budget-friendly and comfortable way of travelling around NZL!
My road trip is coming to an end as I have to head back to Auckland for work. The car will be available for viewings in Auckland from April 25 (Thursday).

Despite its compact size, it is fully geared up for two people:
- Canyon two-person rooftop tent (you'll be surprised how spacious it is)
- Comfortable sleeping area with foam mattress, duvet, 2x pillows and 3x blankets
- Complete kitchen will all utensils needed
- Fridge (12v compressor)
- Gas stove (2 burners and refillable 2 kg LPG bottle)
- Secondary 100ah gel battery to run the fridge or charge electronics (e.g. 12+ hours of laptop use)
- 200w solar panel to recharge the 2nd battery
- 150w pure wave inverter (for safely charging laptops etc.)
- Certified self contained until June 2025 (and the previous owner designed the toilet for the new regulations coming into effect next year)
The conversion into a self contained car was done by the previous owners so everything is pretty new. It is also a relatively new car with low mileage compared to a lot of the other self-contained cars/vans out there.
A few details on the car, which drives well:
- Chevrolet Cruze 2005 (1.3l petrol car with automatic transmission)
- Easy to drive and economical on fuel / cheaper ferry
- Odometer is around 213,XXX (still being used)
- Great stereo with Bluetooth to keep you entertained on the road
- AC works perfectly
- Three tires recently replaced (now all are of the same type and in great condition)
- Rear brake cylinders and shoes recently replaced
- The previous owners had it checked by a mechanic a few months back
Asking price is NZD 4,500 (or the equivalent in EUR) and it is negotiable.
