Northland covers the very top of the North Island and has 2 very long, but different, stretches of coastline. The west coast is rugged and wild while the east coast is more populated and sheltered. Ninety Mile beach is a must do thing in the area where there are amazing surf breaks and sunsets and if you don't want to get wet you can surf the sand dunes!
