The West Coast (or just coast to the locals) is an amazing place of wild rivers and lush rain forests. Some of the main centres in the area are Haast, Punakaki and Westport. A must do thing to do in Punakaki is visit the Pancake Rocks and blowholes then watch the amazing sunsets. You will also be spoilt for choice if rafting, jet boating or caving are your thing.
