👨‍🍳 Cook / Sous Chef / 2nd Chef – Fixed-Term/ Casual or part time

The Whaler Bar & Restaurant – Kaikōura

We’re on the hunt for a skilled and motivated   Sous Chef or experienced Cook to join the kitchen team at the Whaler, one of Kaikōura’s busiest and most loved bar & restaurant venues.

This is a fixed-term position/casual or part time ideal for someone looking to work in a vibrant seaside town with a great team.

✅ Position Details:

• Fixed-term contract
• 5 days per week
• Average 20–40+ hours per week
• Restaurant hours: Open daily from 12pm until late

🍳 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has strong technical cooking skills across all sections
• Is honest, reliable, and hardworking
• Works well as part of a team
• Has great communication and interpersonal skills
• Is well-organised and manages time effectively
• Holds a Certificate in Professional Cookery or has relevant experience
