Based in the heart of Central Otago is the hidden gem town of Saint Bathans. Settled by Welsh and Irish miners in the mid- to late-nineteenth century, Saint Bathans is rife with rich gold mining history and features a stunning manmade lake mere meters from The Vulcan Hotel.

• Only 1h30 to Wanaka, 2h to Queenstown and Dunedin, 3h30 to Te Anau (Doubtful Sound) perfect for people travelling and hoping to spend their weekends exploring the South Island!
• Good work / life balance. The Maniototo region has loads to offer, think: walks/hikes, ice skating, curling, local history & museums, cafes, swimming, kayaking, etc.

Who are we?

• The Vulcan Hotel is one of New Zealand's oldest pubs - originally built in est. 1862, then later re-established (on the other side of the road) in est. 1882.
• A motley crue of individuals who want to get the job done, but also are up for a laugh while doing so!
• A certifiably country town, vast expanses of farm land and a clientele of locals and tourists alike.

What we are looking for?

• Duty Manager's Certificate is necessary.
• Experience is preferred, but the appropriate training will be provided regardless!
• Any barista experience is a bonus, we tend to get a bit busy with coffees (especially on rainy days!)
• Ideally someone who would like to stick around with us for a minimum of 12 months.
• Again: someone who is up for a laugh and a good time whilst getting the job done.
