Dairy Farm Assistant

We are looking for a energetic animal lover to help us milk and care for our 550 cows during calving time and milking them in our 40 a side cow shed.  Experience isn't necessary but you MUST to be able to speak GOOD ENGLISH & MUST BEABLE TO STAY 3 MONTHS. You will need to be fit and healthy, quick learning, enjoy the outdoors, early mornings and not mind getting your hands dirty!  You also need be able to work most weekends, be able to ride a 2 wheeler motorbike and have a great attitude.  

Because it takes time to train you, you need to be able to stay here 3 months starting approx 6th of July until early October.  Approx 40 hours per week, more if you have sutiable ability .  The job will include milking the cows twice a day, hosing down the shed and washing the milking machine.  This position is 6 days a week with flexible time off.

The position would suit a backpacker with their own car.  Self contained one room flat for accommodation available on farm at $150/ week for a couple or $100 for a single person + power. The job is for one person only but if you are travelling as a couple there will be kiwifruit work close by for your partner, we are 2 minutes away from multiple kiwifruit packhouses. Farm is 2 minutes from Te Puke town with plenty to do and see around the Bay of Plenty. No smoking or heavy drinking allowed on farm/accommodation.  We need you to already be in the area so that we can meet you in person before offering you the job please.
