Spring Calving Assistant

Kia ora, 

We are looking for a person to help us during spring calving. The role will provide support to our small but experienced team during this busy period. Duties include feeding calves, milking, cleaning the cowshed and cleaning calf feeding equipment. The role is up to 40 hours a week from 27th July through to approximately the 30th October. 

We have sunny, dry and warm, house available. It is fully furnished. We also provide protective clothing and wet weather gear/gumboots.

We run a family farm located in the rolling hills of the Northern Manawatu, 15 minutes from Feilding. We will be calving down 460 cows through a 36 aside herring bone cow shed. 

Some experience of dairy farming would be ideal, but if you are fit, a fast learner, love animals and working outdoors you should be ok. Many of our past back-packers have learned on the job.
