Hello and a warm welcome to NZ! 

HELP NEEDED

We seek around 22 hours of help per week, mainly related to household and childcare. Household help might include kitchen management (e.g., meal prep, post-meal clean-up, and generally keeping kitchen clean and tidy), laundry, and cleaning. Childcare could involve supporting our kids outside of school/kindy hours (e.g. playing, reading, possibly driving to an after-school activity if you hold a license); our kids are active, fun, screen-free. There might sometimes be some basic outdoor property work as well (e.g. weeding, planting, etc). 

Although typically spanning 4 hours per weekday morning, with an additional 2 hours on either Saturday or Sunday, we can also arrange these flexibly in order to enable you to hold a part-time job in Raglan (or Hamilton). Additionally, there may be an opportunity for paid help in our home outside of these hours (in other words, we may require support beyond these 22 hours, and would pay you for this time). 

ABOUT US

We are a busy family of two working adults, three children, and a fourth due in October. We live in the beautiful Waitetuna Valley, 20 minutes from Raglan village and 25 minutes to Hamilton city. Our neighborhood is rural, made up of farms and lifestyle properties. Our property is 2 hectares, and includes paddocks, orchard, veggie gardens and lawn. Bordering our property is a stream for swimming/playing, and a large nature reserve for hiking. Raglan village - with its world-class surf, cafe culture, yoga, boutique shops, and funky vibe is a short drive away. Hamilton, Pirongia, and Te Awamutu also not far. 

EXCHANGE

We seek the above 22 hours support in exchange for accommodation and food. The accommodation we offer is a large, modern, self-contained caravan, containing a double-bed, living area, full kitchen (including oven, microwave, fridge, etc), shower, and toilet. This does not mean you cannot use the kitchen and bathroom in the main house; you are warmly welcome to use these as well. 

All meals are provided. For breakfast and lunch, we have a variety of ingredients available, from which you can prepare your own meal independently. We share a cooked meal together in the evenings. 

As previously mentioned, there may also be an opportunity to earn a wage for work beyond the 22 hours.
