Live-in Au Pair Wanted – Rural Farm Stay in Putāruru, New Zealand
We are a friendly and welcoming family living on a dairy farm near the beautiful Blue Spring in Putāruru, looking for a live-in au pair to join our family during our busy calving season.
The role is primarily for mid July through August, with the possibility of staying longer if it is a good fit for everyone.
We have three lovely children aged 2, 6 and 8 years old. All children attend either school or childcare during the week. I work part time, and during calving my partner will be away for long hours, so I am looking for an extra pair of hands to help keep family life running smoothly.
What we are looking forSomeone who enjoys spending time with children, is happy to help around the home, and would like to experience life on a New Zealand dairy farm.
Support will mainly be needed in the mornings and evenings, along with general household help and one weekend day each week. I am quite flexible and happy to work around the right person's availability. More than anything, I am looking for someone reliable, positive and willing to pitch in where needed.
Typical tasks may include:
- Helping with the children before and after school/childcare
- Preparing simple family meals and dinner preparation
- Light household cleaning and tidying
- Laundry and general household support
- Spending time with the children and helping with activities
- Joining me with the children on weekends or caring for them while I complete farm-related tasks
- Private live-in accommodation
- Weekly pocket money
- Use of a vehicle
- A welcoming family environment
- The opportunity to experience authentic Kiwi farm life during one of the busiest and most interesting times of the farming year
- Time to explore the local area, including the Blue Spring and nearby , Mount Mauganut, Rotorua, Taupō and Hobbiton. We also have a beach house in Whiritoa that you would be free to go to when you were not working with our family during the week.
You must:
- Hold a valid New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
- Hold a full driver's licence and be confident driving
- Enjoy working with children
- Be responsible, reliable and able to work independently
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, we would love to hear from you. Please send us a message telling us a little about yourself, your childcare experience, and your availability.
