Hi I'm Nadine
We are seeking people to help with calf rearing and feeding, possibly dairy shed duties - for our up and coming season which starts early August
We are seeking an individual/couple to join our fantastic team on farm to help with various farm duties.
Duties will include but not limited to: feeding calves, milk collection and general hygiene etc
Start time at present is 7am for morning duties and 2:30pm for afternoon duties. Our roster is 6 days on and 1 day off.
This is a full-time live on farm position with accommodation - possibly shared with shared expenses depending upon the accommodation allocation on farm..
Accommodation is $80 per week and there is a charge for electricity and LPG as the cottage has gas heating and cooking - fully furnished, includes cookware and all appliances are supplied including a washing machine.
Unlimited Wifi available - $60.00 per month.
We are located 20 minutes from Invercargill on the Gorge Road-Invercargill highway at Kapuka South - near Waituna Lagoon - and 20 minutes away to the gateway of the Catlins - fantastic place to spend your days off exploring the area if you have a car.
Our little community boasts a local shop and takeaway - extremely handy when you have a day that you do not wish to cook - garage and a local country club - all within 15 minutes of the farm.
Wage payment is fortnightly and payslips are emailed.
If you love working with animals, have a patient nature - a hard worker, enjoy the outdoors, enthusiastic, good communication skills and are keen to learn - then we would love for you to join our team. A reasonable understanding of the english language is important as to be able to carry out instructions given.
This is a very physical, demanding, but rewarding job - requiring good upper body strength to lift new born calves and buckets etc and does take time for your body to adjust to this physical activity.
Transport would definitely be an advantage as we are in a rural area.
Due to the time that it takes to train and learn on farm, we would appreciate applicants that are willing to stay no less than 3 months.
Please note - we do not get involved in the NZ visa process for those who are in or outside of the country and wish to apply.; FOR THOSE THAT DO APPLY AND DO NOT HOLD A VALID WORK VISA - A RESPONSE WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
