The Pay
For applicants with no experience, we will pay for your COA training which has an approximate cost of $500. We just ask that you work with us for a minimum of 6 months. The pay for applicants with no experience would be $23.15-$25.00 to start.

For applicants with a current COA, we will pay you $28.00-$32.00 per hour depending on experience.

The Business

We are recruiting for two locations: Mr Murdoch's and Freeman & Grey - both are in Auckland City.

Mr Murdoch's - A casual hangout located in the middle of Auckland. Find us on Fort street and roll up to the rooftop bar where you can kick back, relax and have a laugh. The pints are cold, the prices and cheap and we can guarantee you a good night! Mr Murdoch's, formally known as Fort Street Union, our bar has recently undergone a makeover like none other. Pizza, pints and pool - what else could you want from a rooftop bar? 

Freeman & Grey - Your friendly Ponsonby local. Freeman & Grey is a relaxed gastropub that prides itself on being the place to go for an after work beer to the place you meet your friends on a Saturday night. We strongly believe in handcrafted pizza, cold beer and good times. We love people and we love keeping busy - our nights are filled with quizzes, functions and cocktails!

The Role
Our security team is the first point of contact for all of our customers along with being a direct extension of our brand. It is vital that you provide a warm welcome to our guests and continue that rapport throughout the evening. Your role includes:

• Proactively monitoring intoxication levels within our site
• Reporting and coordinating with the Manager on shift
• Managing and de escalating conflict
• Upholding the sale and supplier of Liquor Act 2012
• Checking ID’s

This is a Part-Time role, and shifts will be mainly on Friday and Saturday nights for a total of up to 10 hours per week. 

Skills / Experience 

Security experience along with a COA is preferred however not essential. Our ideal candidate will:

• Be able to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Communicate effectively
• Be trustworthy and mature
• Be able to control tricky situations and conversations responsibly
• Share the passion we have for our brand and demonstrate this

Working weekends is essential, we are looking for flexible applicants who are able to commit to late nights.
