Farmhand On Regenerative Dairy Farm

Farmhand needed for helping with milking dairy cows and other farm jobs on a dairy farm in South Otago, New Zealand. Experience preferred.

This position can be either shorter term, 6 months or full time for a full year we have different options available.

We are located at Waiwera South which is 35 mins to the Catlins (world class surfing) and 2.5 hours to Wanaka or Queenstown. 

We have been adopting regenerative farm principles for nearly 10 years which involves reducing fossil fuel use and involves system thinking and working with nature.

This season we begin the transition towards certified Organic dairying.

Some of the cool stuff we do on farm are holistic grazing, large scale composting, winter bale grazing, and tree planting for agroforestry.

We would also support on farm learning and mentoring. We have some great networks around here of great people to learn from also.

Agricultural experience would definitely help but not essential.

Accommodation provided here on farm. Electricity included. Car if needed. 

Wet weather gear and boots provided.

Roster set but ability to be flexible.

2 other full time employees on farm.

Start date flexible depending on successful applicant.
