2 X Farm Assistants

We require 2 enthusiastic farm assistants to join our friendly team on our dairy farm just outside of Morrinsville. This role is available to start from July and until October, at least. We are also very open to having a couple with either both doing farm work or one helping with our four children and household duties as well as some farm work. My husband and I both work on farm during this period but my husband has had shoulder surgery so is unable to milk or lift. 

Our farm is just 25 minutes from Hamilton, 15 minutes from Morrinsville and 1 hour south of Auckland. We are also situated within an hour of the beautiful Waihi and Whangamata beaches. 

We milk 600 cows through a 50 aside herringbone with feed-pad facilities close by. We would require you to help milk our cows and keep the cowshed clean, set up breaks, weed maintenance and other general duties around the farm. There is also calf rearing duties available. You would also be required to drive a two wheeled motorbike so experience would be ideal, but we are able to teach you these skills. We welcome applicants of all experience levels as willingness to learn is most important to us.

We have accommodation available of a spare separate room in our home, with your own bathroom and shower and lounge, that would suit a couple who enjoy both working and living together. Tea and Coffee making facilities would also be available but you would be sharing our kitchen facilities. Our roster is currently 11 days on and 3 days off during our quiet period but this will change over our busy calving period and you will have the same days off. There would be a minimum of 35 hours a week for both (not combined) and rent will be $50 a week including power and internet.
