Calf Rearer And Farm Hand

We are looking for 1-2 people to help us on our dairy farm over calving for 6 weeks starting 15th July. (Ideally a couple or two friends keen to get stuck in).

🚜 About us

Our farm is located 10mins out of Raglan (the surf capital of NZ) a vibrant large enough town with x2 small supermarkets, lots of cafes, art shops, pharmacy and water based activities.

We have 430 dairy cows on a mid - steep farm that looks over the township up in the hills. 

We are a young farming family (myself, husband and x2 kids) as well as another family who work on the farm.

🚜 Job Details

The positions are one full time worker helping out on farm eg, milking, "mooving" the herds, fencing, cleaning, picking up calves and general farm duties. (Ideally this person has farming knowledge).

The other position is for a full time calf rearer/ helper on farm. This involves looking after the newborn calves, feeding them, maintaining calf shed hygiene, looking out for sick ones and helping out the team with calving where needed. (All can be taught).

There is no accommodation available at this stage, so you will need to find your own place to stay.

⏰️ Hours

Hours vary. 30-40 hrs depending on where we are in the season. 6 -2 roster with your buddy.

Ideally you have some farming experience, enjoy working outdoors, can ride a motorbike and most importantly will look after our animals.
