Dairy Farm Assistant

Immediate Start:

We are seeking an individual to join our fantastic team of 5  -  Lucas unfortunately will be leaving us in 3 weeks time as his work visa with us is coming to an end

Duties will  include: all aspects relating to milking cows, dairy shed maintenance and general farm duties.

At present start time is 5:00am for morning milking and every second day - 2:30pm.

This is a fixed term contract with end date early June - when we dry the cows off for winter grazing.

This is a full-time live on farm position with shared accommodation.

 Accommodation is $80 per week  and there is a share charge of approximately $35.00 per week,  which includes electricity and LPG as the cottage has gas heating and cooking.

Unlimited Wifi available - $15 per week

We are located 20 minutes from Invercargill on the Gorge Road-Invercargill highway at Kapuka South - near Waituna Lagoon - and 20 minutes away to the gateway of the Catlins - fantastic place to spend your days off exploring the area if you have a car.

Our little community boasts a local shop and takeaway - extremely handy when you have a day that you do not wish to cook - garage and a local country club - all within 15 minutes of the farm.

Guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week - pay is fortnightly.

If you love working with animals - are a hard worker, enjoy the outdoors, enthusiastic, good communication skills and are keen to learn - then we would love for you to join our team

This is a very physical, demanding but rewarding job - requiring good upper body strength to cup the cows

Transport would definitely be an advantage as we are in a rural area,  but not necessary

Due to the time that it takes to train and learn on farm, we would appreciate applicants that wish to stay for the fixed term as mentioned above.

You must be eligible to work in NZ with a current working visa, IRD number and NZ bank account number.
