Methven Milk Harvester May

We are looking for a farm assistant or milk harvester to fill in while one of our team is off overseas. Due to the short term nature of this role, we do require someone who has previously milked cows. Start and end date flexible, ideally from 6th May to 2nd June.

Job Description includes a range of the following dependent on prior experience:

- getting cows in, milking, and washing shed/plant/vat

- general animal health tasks

- general farm maintenance 

- doing break fences and tractor work

- A fully furnished single unit will be provided, with rent deducted from pay. Starlink internet and power is included as part of the rent

We will pay an hourly rate, which will be from $26 plus holiday pay, with a higher rate paid where there is more experience.

- Roster is currently an 8/2, 8/3 roster, we will have some flexibility in time off, but there are a handful of key dates we will need you to cover.

- The farm is 700 cows, with a rotary cowshed.

Applicants must be already eligible to work in NZ. You will ideally have your own form of transport, as we are not close to public transport. Note we only have a vacancy for one person, however the accommodation could work for a couple, although be aware the living/kitchen/bedroom is all in one space.
