Motel Housekeeper
Job description:
House-keeper -  minimum 30 hours per week

We are seeking housekeepers to start end December 2023 to April/May 2024 (negotiable but preference given to longer stays)
Position involves motel cleaning in small, independently run motels (11 motel units).
Minimum 30 hours per week over 6 day roster - hours usually 9am-2pm.  Extra hours available if you are happy to do laundry, grounds work, maintance etc.  Local hotels are also offering pm work.

  • Housekeeping experience given preference but we are hapy to train the right person.         
  • Self-contained, shared accomodation available onsite (with wifi) total cost $100pw Available for our employees only.                                                                        
  • Located in Haast - approx. half way between Wanaka/Queenstown and and the Glacier region.                  Haast is the perfect spot if you are into bush hikes, remote beaches, you need time out or want to save some money.
  • Please aware that Haast is a beautiful but fairly remote town with a population of about 270  people - you will  need to be able to cope with small town life. 

Job requirements - please read carefully:

  • You must be friendly, hard-working, be able to function both as part of a small team and also able to work independantly.  
  • Must have good attention to detail and be fussy with cleaning.
  • Must be honest and reliable.
  • Must be able to cope with feedback (especially while learning - really important!!).  
  • Must have good people skills and a friendly personality.
  • Must have good English language, written and numeracy skills.
  • There will be an inital trial period of 1-2 weeks depending on experience to make sure it a good fit for both parties.

Applicant must be legally able to work in NZ (work visa / NZ citizen, tax number, NZ bank account).
