Skotel Alpine Resort is New Zealand’s highest hotel, overlooking Mt Ngauruhoe, Mt Ruapehu and the Tongariro National Park. Lord of the rings country & on a live volcano. We are busy year-round with two distinct seasons of Summer for the Tongariro Crossing & hiking adventures and Winter for the ski season. We offer our international and domestic guests a great base for all of their adventure needs.

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to work with us, immediate start required. We can offer onsite or offsite accommodation during this time. 

We are looking for creativity & a willingness to contribute to menus, systems & processes in the kitchen. Of equal importance is an ability to join a team & work well with your peers & be an example of excellence in the kitchen for those around to follow. We require cover for Head Chefs days off & someone looking to move up in their career in the future. A team player with the ability to work under pressure & available to work variable shifts across a seven day roster.

In your toolbox you will have had experience with assisting with the management & operation of a kitchen on a daily basis, menu planning & dish creation & of overseeing junior staff. A knowledge in OHS/HACCP.

This is a busy Restaurant kitchen so you will need to be able to move quickly, have the ability to listen and follow instruction well. Excellent English is essential.
